Here is a list and description of 12 private campgrounds from which one can enjoy the Minuteman region, the northeastern region of Mass.  Camping in this area varies from ocean communities to hill country and lakes region, all within an hour of historic Boston.  Many visitors are attracted to whale watching, deep sea fishing, The Freedom Trail, the Battlefield at Lexington and Concord, Worcester Centrum, and the waterfront festivals in Gloucester (August) and Newburyport (Sept).
